Dr. Manmohan Singh debuts on Facebook
As part of his ‘image makeover’ strategy (read about it here), Dr. Manmohan Singh has created his Facebook profile and hangs out there quite often despite working 18 hours a day. He already has made over 1000 ‘friends’ which (surprise surprise) also includes Anna Hazare. He even took the risk of accepting a ‘friend request’ from Sonia Gandhi.
The Prime Minister’s media adviser, Shri Harish Khare, will periodically release snapshots of Dr.Singh’s Facebook Wall to select media houses like The UnReal Times. The PM hopes to convey through such releases that ‘he is very much in control at the helm of affairs’ according to Mr.Khare.
