Chammak Challo has a new fan

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who is currently in Cannes for the G-20 meet, was today caught redhanded, watching Ra.One’s hot number Chammak Challo featuring Kareena, during a conference involving the heads of states. The incident took place during the post-lunch session of the summit when the British premier was lecturing the distinguished gathering on medium term and long term structural changes of the European economy to address the Eurozone crisis and ensuring a speedy recovery of the global economy.

While most heads of State were trying hard to avoid nodding off, Dr. Mamnohan Singh and his deputy, Planning Commission Chairman, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, appeared all perked up as they stared animatedly at a laptop screen. A highly bored French premier Nicholas Sarkozy walked over to the Indian desk and politely enquired about the reason for the Indian duo’s excitement, to which the economist turned Prime Minister remarked with a straight face that they were merely going over some figures which boded well for the Indian economy.

Sarkozy, who prides himself on his intellectual curiosity, was intrigued by the answer and peered over to have a look. Monty failed to press Alt+Tab in time and Sarkozy found a figure of a different kind – a video of Kareena’s delectable figure draped in a red hot sari, cavorting to Akon’s hit number Chammak Challo from Ra.One.

Thankfully, Sarkozy who is also the summit’s host, did not take offence, and instead pulled a chair to sit with the Indian duo and enjoy the rest of the song. The mirth continued for a good five minutes, with muffled “oohs” and “aahs” emanating from the group, and ended only when Sarkozy expressed an interest in watching the entire movie.
