Hit by financial losses, Vijay Mallya launches cash crunch edition of Kingfisher 2012 calendar

Despite grappling with a severe cash crunch in wake of mounting losses of his airline, Vijay Mallya has managed to launch the 2012 Kingfisher Calendar on a shoe-string budget without compromising too much on quality or production standards. After Atul Kasbekar refused to work for free, Mallya shot all the pictures himself using a cheap Nokia camera equipped mobile (the liquor baron recently sold his iPhone on Ebay to generate much needed working capital for Kingfisher airlines).

The 10th edition of the uber chic and extravagant calendar series has been shot in stunning and ‘exotic’ locations ranging from the badlands of Bihar to the magnificent Parliament house, and even features some of the most captivating female public figures of India. Here is sneak preview of the most eagerly anticipated calendar of the year that the King of Good Times was kind enough to share with The Unreal Times:

While holidaying in a nondescript Tier III town somewhere in North East Bihar (Mallya has eschewed foreign jaunts for cheaper domestic tourist destinations at least until Kingfisher airlines regains profitability), the flamboyant industrialist came across this stunning village belle and immediately snapped her in a sexy pose. “Sanguliya Devi is definitely the hottest of all the Kingfisher models to date,” recalled Mallya over a pint of Kingfisher beer.

While wandering through the corridors of Parliament to lobby for FDI in aviation and government bailout of his ailing airline, Mallya came across what he describes as “the two most fetching ladies in the current Lok Sabha” indulging in some friendly banter, and captured the moment digitally for posterity. “It was a stunning visual and I immediately knew that this would be one of the most enchanting pieces of the 2012 edition,” recounted the Kingfisher airlines chairman with pride.

The ‘King of Good Times’ tried to surreptitiously photograph the elusive Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, for the month of May, as she was coming out of 10, Janpath. However, his cell phone was snatched away by Sonia’s irate black cats as soon as he clicked her. Fortunately, Kiran Bedi, out of a sense of social service, agreed to pose sensuously in uniform against the golden brown wheat fields of the Punjab to create this sweltering masterpiece.
