Maharashtra Navnirman Sena party workers, who had made news recently for vandalizing the vehicles of Actors John Abraham and Ayushmann Khurana on a film shooting set, have finally revealed the reason for their violent behaviour – a chart-buster song from the movie “Vicky Donor”, called “Rum & Whisky”, which has the lines “Toll Le toll le”. The song has John, who is also one of the film’s producers, dancing along with Ayushmann in a cameo appearance.
The act comes in the wake of the MNS’ recent protests against toll collectors, with supremo Raj Thackeray suspecting a scam in toll collection. Driver of MNS MLA Pravin Darekar, Ravindra More, who is alleged to have been at the forefront of the attack, defended the act saying, “What wrong have I done? Our boss has strictly given orders to strongly protest against toll collection. I have done exactly that! I have protested against this song, which is pro toll collection! As it is, all guys are inspired by John to build their muscles and flex them. No wonder, gyms all over Mumbai have so much traffic around them. Now thanks to this song, they will be inspired to collect tolls too!” thereby insinuating that John was a negative influence on today’s male youth.
Not one to take things silently, John, however, lifted More’s scooter and flung it away; following which More and the goons fled the place. John received support from the Tamil Nadu Youth Congress, which condemned the incident by burning posters of CSK’s Ravindra Jadeja and former cricketer & chairman of selectors Kiran More outside the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chepauk, Chennai, before they were stopped by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who flew in from Sri Lanka, rushed to the spot and requested them to stop.
John, however, later slammed Raj Thackeray in a press conference, stating that, if anything, it is his ex-flame Bipasha Basu who must be attacked, as he feels that her constant attacks are taking a “toll” on him.
