While as a platform, The UnReal Times does not subscribe to any particular ideology or political party, the writers (including the editors in their personal capacities) may have their individual political leanings. As a result, on some occasions we may seem to be targeting a particular party/ideology and may appear “biased”, and on other occasions we may seem to be taking digs at more than one section and may appear more “neutral” – this depends on the volume and frequency of contribution of the individual writers. We do not make the artificial claim that we are consistently neutral in our output.

Where we do claim neutrality is in our process. The editors of The Unreal Times do NOT influence or direct writers to adhere to any political line, nor do they select or reject articles based on their own political leanings. The criteria for publication is only (a) clean humour (b) reasonable satire with basis in reported facts or information in the public domain (c) originality. This is borne out by the fact there are articles targeting every political party / ideology / personality in the archives of The UnReal Times.
